SeaCom installed and
commissioned a VSAT system onboard the dive support vessel (DSV)
Endeavour. The installation and commissioning was carried out whilst
the vessel was alongside in the port of Piraeus.
VSAT provides a permanent high speed ship-to-shore connection and is specifically used where high data usage is essential for the ships operations.
For this installation Seacom worked directly with a VSAT airtime broker, which enabled much greater visibility of the systems performance onboard. Access to the management information is direct via the internet and highlights such data as traffic analysis, events and response times etc.
Neil Sayce, Managing Director says: ''With the rise in demand for data services and internet access, VSAT systems are now being increasingly deployed within the commercial maritime sector".
